The Texas Department of State Health
Services (DSHS) leads the coordination of the TSCC. In addition to this
administrative role, the following branches at DSHS are involved in TSCC activities:

The EIETB is a branch of the Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit. The mission of the EIETB is to use the principles of epidemiology and toxicology to understand and prevent adverse human health conditions and exposures, identify human populations at risk, and promote actions to protect and promote the health of the people of Texas.
The SALG is a group of the Division for Regulatory Services. The mission of the SALG is to protect consumers of oysters, clams, mussels and scallops and crab meat from disease or other health hazards transmissible by these products produced in or imported into Texas. It is also to protect recreational fishers from disease or contaminants found in fish and other aquatic species caught in Texas' lakes, rivers, bays or nearshore State waters.
The Tier II Chemical Reporting Program is a branch of the Division of Regulatory Services. The mission of the Tier II Chemical Reporting Program is to provide current and accurate information about hazardous chemicals and their health effects and by ensuring that the regulated community complies with the requirements of the applicable laws and regulations.
